Advent is a wonderful time for us at Covington First UMC, full of tradition. Our church is even more breath-taking than usual, as it is filled with candles, wreaths, garlands and trees adorned with all the symbols we recognize as United Methodists. Covington First celebrates and enjoys this wonderful season as we anticipate the birth of Jesus. On Christmas Eve, we have one of our most beautiful services of the year. At 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm in our main sanctuary and 11:15pm in Wesley Chapel, families and friends gather for our Candlelight Christmas Eve Services. As you arrive at the 5pm service, you will find our Adult Live Nativity on the front lawn, then inside the service begins with amazing music, the Christmas story is told, and a filled sanctuary ends the service by singing Silent Night in candlelight.
The Advent season is filled with special services, live Nativities, children’s programs, participation in the community Christmas parade and fellowship opportunities that help us to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.
